The Roman Painted House in Dover, England

is a unique archaeological site found in 1970 when a road crew was preparing to build York Road. Buried to a depth of 28 feet are the remains of a stone age settlement, an Iron age farm, the Roman Painted House, a Roman fort, a Saxon weaver's hut, a medieval house, and a grave from approximately AD1750.
